Philadelphia's Playhouse Theatre presents the summer season of free live shows with famous guest stars. This season includes the hit movie "When Harry Met Sally". The Playhouse Summer Movie Series presented by Philadelphia's Playhouse Theater is available for free and open to the general public. Each week, from July 16 through August 21, this six-week show at the West Philadelphia theater will feature three shows each week.

This month's featured show is "When Harry Met Sally". Starring in the title role, Kevin Spacey will take audiences on a journey into the heart of Manhattan. Spacey plays the role of Reuben Feffer, a happily married man whose life is swept away when he meets Sally -- a woman he has just met. This romantic tale is told through the eyes of the Reuben Feffer, who lives his life with his true identity hidden for years.

Other acting credits include "The Great Bazaar", "A Christmas Story", "Les Miz", "Eyes of the Dog", "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", "The Pirates of the Caribbean" and "The Paper Bag Princess". All these plays are directed by Tim Burton and are produced by Disney through their Universal Studios. Other new shows in this summer season include "When Harry Met Sally", "The Fantastic Mr. Fox", "The Secret Door" and "Lucky Number Slevin". You can also enjoy the many comedy plays and musicals offered at the Playhouse Theatre. These shows are all part of their summer season festivities.

Other local theater companies are offering many summer season offerings, including the Jullie O'Neal Company, The Arts Center at Broadmoor, The Milliner's House Theater, The Players Clubhouse, Theatre Orlando, Theatre Memphis and the rehearsal hall Seabrook. Many of these theaters house both the beginner and advanced actors/dancers, providing a professional experience for students and teaching artists alike. Professional directing credits include: Bridget Kelly's "Play it Again," "Broadway Divan," "The Book of Song," "Love Among the Ruins," "Beasts of the Earth," "Romeo and Juliet," "The Addam's Family," "The Cotton Tree," "The Best Man's Wife," "The Squid and the Sea," "The Sands of Time," "The Graduate," "The Rainmaker" and "Tangled."

Professional acting credits include "Annie Lennox: She Loves Me, She Wants Me," "A Midsummer Night's Dream," "Dear John," "Ladies of Leisure," "Doubt," "The Nutcracker," "Olive Kitter," "Shuffleboard" and "The Mysterious Lady." Professional directing credits include: "A Midsummer Night's Dream," "Doubt," "The Graduate," "The Rainmaker," "The Squid and the Sea," "The Cotton Tree," "The Secret Life of Bees," "The Rainbow Connection," "The Sands of Time," "The Teacher," "Election," "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and "The Nutcracker." Professional directing credits also include: "Election," "The Heartbreak Kid," "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," "The Piano," "The Reader," "The Secret Life of Bees," "The Velvet Sea," "The Squid and the Sea," "We're Not Alone" and "Xander and Jane." Professional stage management training includes: drama education with the New York School of Dramatic Arts (NYSDAA); workshops and seminars on a variety of acting topics; readings and scripts to practice; scenic design for theater productions; script editing; and directing a drama by oneself. Past acting credits include: "Good As You," "As Good As It Gets," "Cable Guy," "The Cable Guy," "The Best Man," "Gran Torino," "The Rainmaker," and "A Midsummer Night's Dream II."
