The third book in the Tribal Get Out Alive series is an exciting adventure story that will leave your jaw on the floor. Veteran Caitlin Ross, now retired from active service, retires from her job because of PTSD. With former close friend and team member Brad Johnson, they decide to take the easy road and open a security company.
Mr. Davidson takes you on a trip into the mind of someone who has PTSD. Mr. Davidson is an ex-soldier who served tours in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. He was a member of the Army Special Forces and a part of the Rangers and Green Berets. He was assigned to Camp Lejeune NC, where he became part of the Special Forces' Recon Team, assigned to protect the camp.
Dudley, a member of the Recon Team, is also an ex-soldier. He served two tours in Iraq and has PTSD and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). He, like Mr. Davidson, suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and was deployed to Camp Lejeune NC. He was one of the first soldiers to receive a Purple Heart and is also part of the Special Forces Recon Team. As part of the Recon Team, Mr. Davidson protects the camp, and Mr. Davidson was there when Mr. Davidson was diagnosed with PTSD.
Jerry and Brad have been friends for twenty-two years and have a son together, Jacob, who was born while they were at Camp Lejeune NC. They had planned to go back to school after a family vacation. They also want to take their new business and expand into the East Coast to be closer to their son, but as the story unfolds, it becomes clear that not everything goes as planned.
As it turns out, the kids are also in danger, especially Joe. Joe is living alone in his basement after his mom kicked him out of the house. His dad left him at a daycare that Joe used to work at. After being thrown out, Joe went to college but never finished. After he started working in the security industry, he lost his job and was laid off.
As the story progresses, you learn how Joe got his PTSD, and how he has coped with it. He has worked to overcome it by trying to maintain friendships with other people, like Brad, that help him deal with the PTSD, and help him with his anger. When you finish this book, you will know what you are capable of, and what you deserve. Tribal Get Out Alive by Tom Davidson is a great read about people who have overcome and come back stronger.
