Summary: Christmas Crossfire is a very gripping film. While it's not full on comedy, it's certainly loaded with enough action and suspense to keep movie goers eager for the next scene. With an amazing story line that moves at a fast pace from beginning to end, along with many memorable and funny moments throughout, Crossfire manages to be one of the best Christmas films you'll have the pleasure of seeing. With superb special effects, and a standout cast including Tom Selleck, Kurt Russell, David Strathairn, Emmannuel Chriqi, and Michael Caine, this movie is a definite must-see Christmas movie...
Summary: In twenty years after the events of Christmas Crossfire, a young girl is haunted by nightmares she's had before. After her father is killed in a plane crash, she is taken in by her older half-brother, Matt. He wants to give her a Christmas gift, but she isn't sure what: her childhood has left her too traumatized to receive anything useful. Meanwhile, Matt's friend tracker, Dean Devlin (Kurt Russell) appears once again, offering to help her find her birth mother who may still be alive.
When the two finally meet, they quickly become good friends. However, when Dean Devlin disappears, leaving his laptop behind, they're faced with a new challenge-their childhood friend, turn of the plot, tracker Emmannuel Chriqi, now involved in their lives, has taken on a life of his own. Will Christmas Crossfire take them down the dark road, or will they steer clear? Find out in this Christmas Crossfire review!
What you may not know about the movie Crossfire: The movie is based on a true story of two teenage girls who stumble across the body of a German soldier during World War II and are taken to the occupied German haven of Grossmunster, which is occupied by the Americans. They are forced to work in the wood mill making lumber by the Americans, and escape at the end of the movie. One of the characters in the movie is Gertrude Stein, who is perhaps best known for her role as Dr. Strangelove, so it's no surprise that Christmas Crossfire would have been based on a true story of the couple of Stein's friends, Egon and Kurtz.
As the name suggests, Christmas Crossfire follows Christmas and Kurtz in their search for Christmas cairns throughout the year. It's a bit more melodramatic than the usual cute, adorable, sentimental Christmas movies we've been used to seeing, but the point is that Kurtz and Christmas are very likable characters. In fact, I think the movie is very funny overall, despite the somewhat silly plot (which I'll go over later). In December, the movie takes a serious turn, as Christmas and Kurtz are separated, and Christmas has to find her own way back to Germany. Throughout the year, she runs into various different people, including Claus, but she always returns to Christmas Crossfire and Kurtz.
The movie is full of Christmas music, and the performances by the three principal actors are among the best we've seen on screen in ages. It just makes Christmas Crossfire a fun movie to watch, especially considering its placement in the month of December. Some of the songs from Christmas Crossfire that stick out to me are "Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer" and "The Frosty the Snowman." I also really liked Christmas Carol, which features David Hyde Pierce as the insane preacher whose insane words of hate fill the air. Christmas Crossfire wasn't as good as I'd hoped it would be, but I still think it's a very entertaining movie.
