In the first episode of The Vampire Diaries, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Damon (Paul Wesley) discuss their thoughts about knives and which ones they will use. The Vampire Diaries is known for its witty dialogue, and the conversation between Damon and Stefan (Joseph Morgan) is no exception. Both are surprised that they've just met each other, and both want to impress the other.
The Deena sisters (Danil Basilio and Caroline Dhavernas) try to create a costume of a "mother" that the two will do the most damage to in a dummies murder mystery. They know they need to do it fast. While we're all waiting for that scene to go off, let's see how well the show is doing in the ratings and the book sales. Before this episode aired, books on The Vampire Diaries were selling extremely well.
How could the TV series do it better than the movies? Some of them have tried, but they never really manage to match up to the "film's" success.
With The Matrix movies, I would have to say that they hit the mark with the script and the directing, but I really didn't care for the acting. The Ghost, a.k.a. The Ghost, is one of my favorite movies of all time, and there's no doubt that the actor playing him really had his heart set on the role.
Any of the Lord of the Rings movies can win any battle, but it won't come close to the great book of the movies are based on. While I will admit that the previous installments do have some great moments, I just felt the franchise needed a major change.
It's not that I don't think they did a good job; it's just that they just kept on changing the plot, and I found myself bored. That is not to say that any of the films are bad; they're just not able to match up to the books and the movie.
Most people see The Vampire Diaries as a spinoff to the television series, but I think that it has much more in common with the shows' plot, because it's a coming of age story with vampires, and the whole of the book is all about the characters and their relationships. With a different writer and a different director, it could have been great.
The Vampire Diaries is an entertaining show, but it's not nearly as good as the books. It was something of a risk to take with the concept, and I think it ended up being a huge mistake. I look forward to the next season of the TV series.
